The magic of aloe vera
OK so Aloe Vera is not exactly a pantry ingredient, but it commonly grows in pots and gardens, and it’s gel can be applied to the skin straight from the leaf. Aloe has been used since ancient Egyptian times as a first aid remedy for wounds and skin irritations, and as a skin rejuvenator.
It is rich in polysaccharides, galactose, plant steroids, enzymes, amino acids, minerals and natural antibiotics.
Aloe acts as a mild astringent, and helps restore the skin’s natural pH. It is well documented and well-researched for its healing and soothing properties.
Many of Rubifresh Skincare products (both mens and women’s) contain certified organic aloe vera. One of these is our Men’s After Shave Gel, packed full of soothing ingredients to settle the skin after shaving, along with essential oils of lime and spearmint to refresh the skin. You can find it at http://rubifresh.com.au/test-category-2/after-shave-shaving-gel-mens.html for $39 (115ml)
If you’re keen, try this recipe for after shave gel with ingredients from your pantry….
